every story has a beginning

Welcome to our first blog entry!  While I can't say that this will be a consistently published blog, I can say with certainty that it will be one full of fun and pretty pictures :).  I hope to follow the examples of my sisters-in-law so we can all enjoy each others' families as they grow up too fast ;)...

I wanted to start with some fun photos from my maternity shoot.  My awesome sister-in-law Camille took them, and Robert bravely battled his allergies in order to pose with me in various outdoor locations.  This was in June, just a few weeks before our darling little baby was born.

So exciting!  Well since that was in June, of course we've already gone and had our baby! :)  She was born at 9:13 am on June 25th and we named her Claire.  She was a doll right from the start...just look at her gorgeous hair!

The labor and deliver was ridiculously fast--about three minutes of hard labor to dilate to a 10 (yeah I know, fast!!  Holy cow!!!) and then 15 minutes of pushing, and voila!  Instant baby =D (I hope the next ones are about the same, but not any faster, that would be craziness...)

The above photo was a special three generation shot with me, my baby, and my wonderful mom!  She was able to come visit just an hour after Claire was born.  She was a happy grandma ;).

Being pregnant, while not the most fun thing ever, was a really great experience (and surprisingly free of barfing!), as was having my baby!  And Robert is such a cute dad :}.  Claire loves cuddling with him.  We are so happy together, and we're so happy to know it can last forever.  Even though I have lots of funny things I want to write about Claire and having her in our lives, I'll save it for another time since this post is getting long.  Look forward to more great updates soon from our little family!
